The Senior Housekeeping Supervisor – Female is responsible for supervising and coordinating all housekeeping and cleaning activities to ensure that company premises, facilities, offices, common areas, and assigned accommodation areas are maintained to a consistently high standard of cleanliness, hygiene, safety, organization, and presentation.
The role involves direct supervision of housekeeping personnel, allocation of daily duties, inspection of completed work, management of cleaning materials and equipment, and ensuring compliance with company standards and health and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Housekeeping Operations:
- Supervise daily housekeeping and cleaning activities.
- Prepare daily and weekly cleaning schedules and allocate duties to housekeeping staff.
- Ensure offices, reception areas, meeting rooms, kitchens, washrooms, corridors, and common areas are properly cleaned and maintained.
- Conduct regular inspections and ensure housekeeping standards are consistently maintained.
- Identify areas requiring additional cleaning, maintenance, or corrective action.
- Coordinate deep-cleaning activities and periodic housekeeping programs.
- Ensure rooms and facilities are properly prepared before use, meetings, events, or inspections.
B. Staff Supervision:
- Supervise, guide, and monitor housekeeping employees.
- Allocate manpower according to operational requirements.
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, uniforms, personal appearance, and work performance.
- Provide on-the-job training and guidance to housekeeping employees.
- Address minor performance and discipline issues and escalate serious matters to the line manager/HR.
- Ensure adequate staffing and appropriate coverage during working hours.
- Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback to management.
C. Quality & Hygiene Control:
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation, and presentation.
- Conduct routine inspections using housekeeping checklists.
- Ensure cleaning procedures are followed correctly.
- Monitor washroom hygiene, waste disposal, kitchen cleanliness, and high-touch areas.
- Ensure appropriate handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
- Immediately report hygiene, safety, pest-control, or facility-related concerns.
D. Cleaning Materials & Equipment:
- Monitor housekeeping supplies, cleaning chemicals, consumables, and equipment.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels and submit replenishment requests.
- Ensure proper and economical use of cleaning materials.
- Maintain an inventory of housekeeping equipment and supplies.
- Report damaged, defective, or missing equipment.
- Ensure cleaning chemicals are properly labeled, stored, and handled.
E. Health, Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure housekeeping activities comply with company health and safety requirements.
- Ensure staff use appropriate PPE when required.
- Prevent unsafe cleaning practices and immediately report hazards.
- Ensure wet-floor signs and other safety precautions are used where necessary.
- Report accidents, incidents, spills, damage, or hazardous conditions promptly.
- Ensure housekeeping activities do not create risks to employees, visitors, or company property.
F. Coordination & Communication:
- Coordinate with Administration, Facilities, Maintenance, Security, and other departments as required.
- Support preparation of facilities for meetings, visitors, events, and management requirements.
- Respond promptly to housekeeping requests from authorized personnel.
- Coordinate with external cleaning or pest-control contractors when assigned.
- Maintain clear communication with housekeeping staff and management.
G. Records & Reporting:
- Maintain daily housekeeping checklists and inspection records.
- Monitor attendance and duty allocation.
- Maintain housekeeping supply and inventory records.
- Report shortages, damages, incidents, and operational issues.
- Prepare periodic housekeeping status reports when required.
4. Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant housekeeping/hospitality training is an advantage.
- Certificate or diploma in Housekeeping, Hospitality, Facilities Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant housekeeping experience.
- At least 1–2 years in a supervisory role is preferred.
- Experience supervising a multicultural housekeeping/cleaning team is an advantage.
- Previous experience in corporate offices, staff accommodation, hospitality, residential facilities, or similar environments is preferred.
